About this project
This program seeks that by 2027, 10 indigenous territories -constituted by 45 peoples with 41 living languages and inhabited by nearly 12.000 persons, over 8,3 million hectares in the Colombian Amazon- are formally constituted as Indigenous Territorial Entities (ETI) with robust frameworks for the effective exercise of their own political, administrative and fiscal autonomy and the necessary institutional capacity for coordination with national and subnational public authorities. This project also seeks to strengthen women's political participation for the consolidation of governance and administration systems in the ETIs, expressed as follows: (a) Integral participation in all matters of territorial governance based on the cultural principles of indigenous peoples; (b) Action plans that incorporate the priorities established by the women's secretariats in territorial policies This is the third and final phase of the "Consolidation of Indigenous Territorial Entities (ETI) Program", initiated by Gaia Amazonas in July 2019.
