About this project

The main goal is for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) in Colombia to be protected and to exercise locally led environmental and territorial governance that contributes to biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and the reversal of tropical forest loss. The program will support the agendas of approximately 18 IPLCs for 2–3 years, prioritizing women-led organizations and those applying a gender perspective to strengthen conservation efforts, human rights, and governance. In addition to direct and flexible financial support, the project includes a strong component on networking, capacity building, and strategic alliance-building, connecting partners with key international and national stakeholders and contributing to scaling up IPLC-led strategies and participation in decision-making processes.
