About this project
The project strengthens Iraq’s institutional framework for climate mitigation and energy transition through support to multi-stakeholder policy platforms, development of Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) systems, and enhanced regulatory and governance capacity. The intervention supports improved coordination, transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making across Iraq’s climate and energy governance architecture. Cross-cutting considerations, including gender equality and inclusive stakeholder participation, are integrated throughout implementation to support representative policy processes and strengthen the effectiveness of climate and energy governance reforms.
