About this project

This is support to a 132 kV transmission line from Dailekh-Kalikot-Jumla in the Karnali Province, in addition to a substation and technical assistance. It is part of a larger ADB program currently being developed in order to connect the more remote areas of Karnali with the national grid, thereby enabling more stable voltage to the remote areas, and also in the long run enable more hydropower development along the Karnali river. A gender action plan is in place and will focus on economic empowerment of women and disadvantaged groups.
