About this project
The Norwegian Nurses Organisation (NNO/NSF) aims to create democratic, accountable, inclusive and sustainable organisations for nurses and midwives in four countries in Africa. Tanzania National Nurses Organisation (TANNA) is a new partner for NNO, included in the programme as of 2024.The aim is to assist TANNA in building its organisational strength and capacity to be an effective watchdog and advocate for nurses and midwives, and solution provider for the government, contributing to a stronger and more resilient health system to deliver Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and good health for all in Tanzania. The project includes a focus on nurses and midwives’ equal opportunity to leadership training and positions (gender equality) and the rights of nurses and midwives with disabilities. It also aims to train nurses and midwives in health-related climate adaptation, in the face of increased climate change and extreme weather related health emergencies. Finally, the project aims to train the nurses and midwives to provide the best possible assistance to patients with disabilities and with SRHR to female patients.
