About this project
The Norwegian Nurses Organisation (NNO/NSF) aims to create democratic, accountable, inclusive and sustainable organisations for nurses and midwives in four countries in Africa. Zimbabwe Nurses Association - ZINA is a new partner for NNO as of 2024. The aim is to build institutional strength and capacity to be effective watchdog and advocate for nurses and midwives, and solution provider for the government, contributing to a stronger and more resilient health system to deliver Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and good health for all in Zimbabwe in the long term. The project includes a focus on nurses and midwives’ equal opportunity to leadership training and positions (gender equality) and the rights of nurses and midwives with disabilities. It also aims to train nurses and midwives in health-related climate adaptation, in the face of increased climate change and extreme weather related health emergencies. Finally, the project aims to train the nurses and midwives to provide the best possible assistance to patients with disabilities and with SRHR to female patients.
