About this project

Support to emergency influx av returnees in South Sudan through emergency humanitarian response and resilience programme for food security. Engage targeted communities in resilience building activities including through community asset creation and climate adaptation using a conflict-sensitive and gender-transformative approach. In the longer term, the contribution will enhance the livelihoods and resilience of communities by engaging them in the construction or rehabilitation of productive community and household assets. These will include crop and vegetable farming, community infrastructure development, environment and natural resource management and adaptation to Climate Change through promotion of adaptive crops such as rice and cassava. The assets will facilitate communities’ engagement in livelihoods and income-generation activities beyond the period of interventions. Activities will contribute to improving food production and enhancing household food security and nutrition status, improving livelihoods, reducing pressure and competition over depleted resources, contribute to social cohesion and contribute to peace, improved gender equality and youth employment. To enable communities to withstand and recover from shocks, activities will be complemented through capacity strengthening and investments on climate risk management services including training on climate-smart agriculture and facilitating access to improved agricultural technologies, especially adaptive crops,…
