About this project

Women lead and benefit from inclusive peace and security in Uganda - WPS Phase II Implementation of Uganda's National Action Plan (NAP) for UNSCR 1325, in close partnership with UN Women. The proposed project aims to focus on the priority outcomes and medium-term outcomes of Uganda's NAP III for the next four years, building on the results of the first phase of the project. By 2026, the WPS Project Phase II will achieve the following desired Outcomes: Outcome 1: By 2026, Women participation in enhancing social cohesion and reducing interethnic conflicts increased Outcome 2: Increased participation of women in reduction of violent extremism Outcome 3: By 2026, Women, including young women participate in preventing and mitigating natural and human made disasters Outcome 4: Systems and structures for the implementation and coordination of the NAP III strengthened
