About this project

The RISE consortium delivers an integrated, multi-sectoral response to urgent humanitarian needs in the Liptako (former Sahel) region of Burkina Faso and the Tillabéri region of Niger, areas heavily affected by conflict, displacement, food insecurity and the collapse of basic services. Led by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) with ALIMA and four national partners (CRUS, SOS Médecins Burkina Faso, CADEL and BEFEN), the project works across five outcomes: protection (including legal assistance on civil documentation and housing, land and property rights), health and nutrition including WASH in health facilities, food security and livelihoods, coverage of immediate basic needs, and the strengthening of local actors' leadership and capacity. It aims to reach 266,338 people directly, mostly internally displaced persons, refugees and returnees, alongside vulnerable host communities. The project is funded by the Sahel Regional Fund (managed by the Danish Refugee Council) with UK aid.
