About this project

Project support through the Dutch NGO WASTE for building financing opportunities for small to medium-sized companies operating in water, sanitation, or waste, with a focus on low-income areas. The initiative has a clear gender equality focus by supporting women's economic empowerment. The project 'Take-a-Stake' provides investment loans to selected companies. The loans are managed directly by TaS or by a fund manager. Part of the support and repaid loans can be used for technical assistance and work to promote investments in the same area. The initiative is expected to contribute to improved health and a cleaner local environment for around 800,000 people by providing, among other things, 700 m³ of drinking water per day and collection of 195 tons of solid waste per day.
