About this project
This is a proposed cooperation with Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and its research arm, the International Center for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD). IUB-ICCCAD has prepared and submitted a project proposal to the Embassy entitled, "Capacity strengthening of multi-actors to limit climate change impacts and enhance resilience", for the period 1 January 2023 - 31 December 2026, with a proposed total budget of SEK 13 000 000. Of this total, SEK 12 000 000 will be disbursed to IUB-ICCCAD and SEK 1 000 000 will be managed by the Embassy for the end-of-program evaluation and organisational audit. The overall goal of the project is "Enhanced capacity of multi-actors to limit climate change impacts and strengthen resilience". The strategic objectives are: 1. Create an enabling environment and foster local climate actors to enhance their knowledge of climate change issues and develop their problem-solving skills. 2. Generate factual evidence from local practices to scale up at the global level. 3. Improve institutional efficiency and effectiveness in decision-making and in putting into practice climate interventions.
