About this project
The intervention "Strengthening Civil Society Actors and Networks Advocating for a Just Environmental Transition in the Middle East and North Africa" aims at promoting capacities of CSOs to become competent and vocal actors in the climate action in the Mena region. The Sida co-financing is designed to be fully integrated into an EU (DG-NEAR) funded programme titled "Strengthening Civil Society Actors: Toward a Just Environmental Transition in the Middle East and North Africa". The Sida co-financing is scheduled for an implementation period for 2.5 years starting 1 June 2023 with a budget of 10 MSEK. The Sida funds will be utilised to cover the 10% cost share of the EU programme to specifically strengthen youth and feminist CSO networks, expand activities to additional countries namely, Algeria, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine and Yemen, and to support CSOs to follow, monitor and contribute to processes related international climate negotiations.
