About this project

The overall objective of Cultivating Change is to contribute to poverty reduction and economic, gender and climate justice in Africa, Asia and Latin America by empowering rural women in rural areas and their communities to increase resilience, food, nutrition and income security, and together with their movements have the power to transform/improve the existing systems characterized by inequality and violations of rights that cause hunger. adverse climate impacts and and ecological destruction. The goal contributes to three challenges: sustainable food production within the planetary boundaries (SDGs 2, 6, 12, 13, 14, 15), the resilience challenge (SDGs 1, 2, 13, 15) and the equality challenge in the food value chain (SDGs 1, 5, 8, 9). The end results are expected to be that: 1. Rural women and their communities have increased food, nutrition and income security and, together with their movements, are building fair, sustainable and resilient food systems for all; 2. Women in rural areas and their communities have secured land and resource rights and, together with their movements, actively lead inclusive governance and sustainable management of their natural resources; and 3. Women in rural areas and their communities have increased resilience to climate change and, together with their movements, are leading climate action.
