About this project
Cooperation with the Swedish Chemicals Agency through an international capacity development programme (ITP) aimed at offering countries an opportunity for continued capacity building in the field of preventive chemicals control, thereby contributing to the achievement of the global sustainability goals (2030 Agenda, SDGs) related to chemicals, as well as to the goals set out in Sweden’s new reform agenda for development assistance “Development assistance for a new era – freedom, empowerment and sustainable growth”. The overarching objective of the intervention is to reduce risks posed by chemicals to human health and the environment. Achieving this objective requires effective national chemicals control. The intervention will involve ministries and authorities relevant to national chemicals control. It will contribute to enhanced knowledge on preventing health and environmental effects caused by chemicals. Additionally, the intervention will assist ministries and authorities in applying this knowledge to develop effective national chemicals control.
