About this project

The overall goal of the project is to strengthen human rights in rural areas by enabling active participation of women and young small-scale farmers in training programs, methods for effective advocacy, and enhanced capacity within the target group of small-scale farmers. This aims to contribute to a more equal and equitable society in terms of human rights, participation, and food sovereignty. The project has five specific outcomes: 1. Promote access for women and young small-scale farmers to educational processes in human rights, agroecology, civic participation, and social organization; 2. Strengthen the active presence of women and youth in political decision-making forums; 3. Create spaces for discussion on smallholders’ rights, combating gender oppression, and age- and ethnic-based discrimination; 4. Contribute to building a fairer and more inclusive society, based on the principles of social justice and agroecology; 5.Project and organizational development, as well as capacity building for the partner organization and Latinamerikagrupperna. The project will be implemented in Brazil together with the partner organization Movimento dos Pequeno Agricultores (MPA), a Brazilian national grassroots movement working to strengthen the rights and participation of small-scale farmers.
