About this project
Initiative will draw on best practices in the humanitarian sector to reduce the impact of climate-related crises on schools, school children and communities. CREST will do this by connecting community-driven, early-action approaches with parametric climate insurance to increase the volume and speed of funding available for schools and communities affected by climate-related school closures, ensure continuity of learning and prevent and disrupt adverse coping mechanisms impacting children’s development and wellbeing and ensure children’s safe return to school. This will reduce the disruptions to school and the chances of long- term dropout and learning loss. CREST has the capacity to be scaled across multiple contexts, following an initial, successful pilot.
