About this project
In 2021, the European Union (EU) and Canada launched the Strategic Partnership on Raw Materials (EU CAN SPRM) under the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) to secure a sustainable supply of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) to the EU from reliable sources. This partnership aligns with the EU's green and digital transition priorities and shall be achieved by enhancing cooperation under three pillars, namely: 1) the integration of Canada-EU raw material value chains; 2) science, technology, and innovation collaboration; and 3) advancement of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria and standards.
