Promoting the digitalisation of the public sector in El Salvador

About this project

The action supports the digitalisation of public administration in El Salvador in order to improve institutional efficiency, transparency, interoperability, cybersecurity and the delivery of citizen-centred public services. It combines a national component focused on the digital transformation and cybersecurity of the justice sector and a regional component aimed at strengthening the digital operation, resilience and cybersecurity of the Central American regional electricity system. At national level, the action will support digitalisation efforst of key justice institutions in El Salvador, notably the General Prosecutor¿s Office, the Supreme Court of Justice and the Public Defender¿s Office, together with their training entities, to modernise secure digital systems and workflows, improve document and case management, and strengthen institutional capacities and standards in data protection, cybersecurity and the responsible use of artificial intelligence aligned with the EU. At regional level, the action will support the Regional Operating Entity (EOR) of the Central American Regional Electricity Market (MER) in enhancing the digital management, resilience and cybersecurity of the regional electricity network, with a view to improving the efficiency, reliability and security of critical infrastructure.
