About this project
The Action aims at strengthening the EU¿ Peru partnership by improving the effectiveness and impact of interventions under the Multi-Annual Indicative Programme (MIP) 2021¿2027. It is entirely dedicated in supporting the implementation of Global Gateway Investment Agenda in Peru, associating EC subventions to EU Member States or Regional development banks loans. The Action will support the implementation of concrete operations in three priority areas: 1) Sustainable energy (regional electricity integration systems), 2) Circular economy (reuse of treated wastewater for agricultural production), 3) Sustainable and safe public transport (cable cars). By doing this, the Action will contribute to reducing inequalities by giving access to low income populations to energy (in particular clean energy), water (treated water for agricultural purposes) and safe urban transportation (cable cars). It will benefit both the population of rural and remote areas (in the case of the electricity transmission lines on borders), rural areas (small farmers located in seven regions) and the persons who live in the hilly outskirts of Lima. Accessibility to public services / goods is a key driver in the reduction of inequalities. The Action is of political and economic interest for the EU and Peru, as it supports strategic EU investments in sectors that are long term political and social priorities for the country and condition its economic development.
