About this project

The Partnership Facility will provide a flexible and strategic mechanism to support implementation of the EU¿Nigeria MIP 2021¿2027, the Global Gateway Strategy and preparation of the next programming cycle, while strengthening the broader EU¿Nigeria strategic partnership. Moving beyond the predominantly project-support role of previous Cooperation Facilities, it will provide demand-driven technical assistance, analytical work and institutional capacity support to help translate policy priorities into reforms, investment-ready initiatives and an enabling environment for sustainable public and private investment, including through EFSD+ and other Team Europe instruments. In parallel, it will reinforce structured policy dialogue, coordination and knowledge exchange between the EU, Nigerian authorities, Team Europe, financial institutions, the private sector, academia, civil society and other relevant stakeholders. With nationwide scope and engagement at both federal and sub-national levels, the Facility will promote evidence-based policymaking, institutional coordination and investment mobilisation across MIP and Global Gateway priorities, while systematically mainstreaming gender equality, climate action, human rights, digitalisation and good governance, thereby enhancing the effectiveness, visibility and long-term impact of the EU¿Nigeria partnership.
