Activity under preparation EU-India Partnership Platform on Climate Support

About this project

The measure supports the implementation of the objectives agreed between the EU and India under the EU-India Partnership Platform on Climate Support, in alignment with Global Gateway. The objective is to support India¿s greenhouse gas emission reduction and industrial decarbonisation, including by facilitating EU private sector engagement in India in the relevant sectors.This measure will focus on decarbonisation of key sectors, in support of India¿s long-term sustainable industrial transformation, in line with the Paris Agreement. It will advance decarbonisation of key sectors, in line with strong EU interest and India¿s priorities, such as energy, transport, and industry, and cross-cutting technical assistance and regulatory cooperation.The aim of the measure is to support India¿s transition to a low¿carbon, climate¿resilient, resource¿efficient and more inclusive economy, in line with its Nationally Determined Contributions and long¿term industrial transformation, while deepening the EU¿India strategic partnership on climate, energy and transport. The measure also aims to strengthen and facilitate EU private sector engagement in the Indian market, by identifying concrete business and project investment opportunities, improving the regulatory environment for EU companies, and leveraging the grant-based fund under this measure to crowd-in additional private finance.
