About this project

The GET FiT Mozambique Programme serves as a financing mechanism to unlock private investments in Renewable Energy (RE) projects. The financing proposed here aims at investing MEUR 20.4 to create a support mechanism for small/medium hydro power projects (HPP) run by Independent Power Producers (IPP). This investment will mobilise at least MEUR 60 in additional private capital (equity/debt) for at least 25 MW installed dispatchable power generation.

The sites are planned to be located at critically constrained load centres. In this regard, the Programme is financing the following components:

¿ A Viability Gap Funding Mechanism

¿ A Grid Integration Facility

¿ A Capacity Development Facility.
