About this project

<p>The regional program ¿Implementation of NDCs in the Urban Mobility sector in LAC¿ (Program) has as its overarching purpose to improve urban transport in Latin America¿s main cities through the framework of helping each country achieve its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to the Paris Climate Accords. The program is in line with the EU Green Deal objective of investing in smarter, more sustainable transport (and eliminating pollution).The Program achieves this through three primary components:1. Studies and Technical assistance (TA) directed at National Governments with the aim of advancing potential urban transport projects to feasibility and project-ready stages. The TA will link both the NDCs and the urban transport project development, thereby leveraging funds invested in project preparation studies, to reinforce and improve the somehow neglected and lagging NDC framework.2. A Regional Forum (Forum) will help establish a regional policy dialogue that includes knowledge exchange between participating countries and experts, enhancing the discussion and adding visibility to the NDC framework¿s urban transport component.3. Financing on concessional terms a set of selected sustainable urban transport infrastructure projects. These projects¿ scopes align directly with each country¿s NDC targets, helping to reinforce the linkage between investment and on-going NDC framework improvements.</p>
