Strengthening Water and Sanitation Governance in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM.WASH)

About this project

This action intends to support the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) to enhance sustainably the governance of its water and sanitation sector. It will do so by assisting the government to strengthen its policy and institutional framework at national, state and local levels, a prerequisite for effective and sustainable sanitation and water management. More precisely, this action will contribute to facilitating the development of a National Water and Sanitation Policy as well as of a Water and Sanitation Master Plan with State Action Plans which take into consideration climate change risks and integrate resilience measures and to enhancing the capacity of the stakeholders. It will promote inclusive and integrated water resources management from ridge to reef and water-use efficiency and will be aligned with Resolution no. 1-2011 from the National and State Water Summit 2011 which guides FSM sectorial efforts. This action will help FSM to progress towards the target of SDG 6 `clean water and safe sanitation for all¿ and better address climate change challenges.
