About this project
The action seeks a transformation of the current economic model in the long term by addressing some of the structural issues currently faced. The EU will provide support in areas such as: economic integration and trade; sustainable and inclusive growth; the transition from an informal to a formal economy, taking advantage of digitalisation and supporting the transition to a greener and a sustainable economy, giving priority to innovative sectors and start-ups; supporting the creation of green and decent jobs in particular for women, indigenous communities and disadvantaged people; financial inclusion for poor people; and the design of institutional frameworks that enable investments and business environments, and ensure MSMEs competitiveness. Moreover, the action will favour entrepreneurship in rural areas promoting sustainable economic development beyond the capital or urban areas and greater equity in the distribution of economic growth in Guatemala. Promotion of green entrepreneurship and greentech could have potential for an operation under the EFSD+.
