About this project

Contract related to: Sustainable aviation fuels eligible for Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) - ICAO - At international level, Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) eligible for ICAO¿s CORSIA (International Civil Aviation Organisation¿s Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation) are an important contributor addressing aviation¿s CO2 emissions. To address the sustainability issues related to aviation, international coordination is required. This project intends to cover the possibility to develop environmental support and capacity building. It is a global initiative, with a strong geographic focus on India and the African continent. Given its size, growth plans, strategic importance, India could be encouraged participating in the early and volunteer phase of CORSIA via this project. Furthermore, this project would intend to encourage India to actively engage at ICAO towards the adoption of a Long-Term Aspirational CO2 emission reduction Goal.As for the African continent, the possibility to provide capacity building support to targeted countries is intended. The list of countries to be part of this project includes Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Cote d¿Ivoire, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia.This project would address mainly SDG number 13, on Climate Action, while having a strong connection with other SDGs.
