About this project
Contract related to: Support for Effective Peaceful and Resilient Borderlands Coordination (PRBC) for IGAD Border Clusters of South Omo Turkana, Mandera Triangle, and Borana/Moyale - Borderlands in Sub-Saharan Africa are often associated with conflict, violence and marginalisation. Livelihood systems and population movements tend to span beyond international borders. This Action intends to address causes of instability and conflict and to contribute to strengthened capacities on conflict prevention and mitigation by cross-border communities, as well as enabling the economic recovery and the strengthening of the resilience and social cohesion of these territories. To achieve this, an integrated approach will be applied, covering peace building and resilience building, including resilience to climate change, capitalizing on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach. It will also involve coordination with relevant partners spread across the three regional windows concerned in order to fulfil the Specific objectives of the Action: 1) Horn of Africa; 2) Lake Chad; 3) Sahel-Coastal countries.
