Sustainable support to people displaced by conflict and natural disaster and their host communities in Benishangul Gumuz and Tigray (GIZ)

About this project

<p>The Action will enable conflict and climate-induced internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in Benishangul Gimuz Regional State and Tigray to move towards recovery and resilience through a comprehensive and multi-sectoral area-based community development project.</p><p>To improve the living conditions of IDPs and their host communities in regions affected by conflicts and/or natural disasters, the project will support measures in the field of access to basic services (WaSH) and livelihood support, skills/vocational training, and job creation, also linked to the rehabilitation of infrastructure. The intervention will focus on vulnerable areas where basic services and especially WaSH services are most needed, and will be implemented in close collaboration with Ethiopian partner institutions at <em>woreda</em>, zonal, and regional level, where applicable. WaSH activities will be aligned with Government of Ethiopia (GoE) priorities and will foster access and management of water sources, coupled with wastewater management, promoting involvement and awareness raising of both IDPs and local communities.</p>
