About this project

The action is very relevant to the global objective of the call and, by promoting and supporting the production

of food and the eradication of malnutrition in Rwanda, it shares its vision of achieving a healthy, sustainable

and resilient food system. This action is also very pertinent to the priorities of the call since it targets the

empowerment of small-scale women farmers¿ cooperatives with the necessary ecological farming skills and

collective capacities to access improved agri-inputs, and appropriately use innovative practices (including

agri-forestry, ecological irrigation and post-harvest handling technologies). It also strengthens existing local

selling and aggregation points. In doing this, it will help achieve a more socially and environmentally

inclusive agricultural value chains, contributing to increased food availability within the women producers¿

households and the locally established markets.
