About this project

Contract related to: Improved Sanitary & Phytosanitary standards in horticulture in Uganda (SPS Uganda) - Via three components nationwide, the Action Sustainable Business for Uganda (SB4U) 1.0 focuses on three of the SB4U TEI pillars for policy dialogue and support: i) Trade and Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS); ii) Governance and accountability; and (iii) Skills for decent jobs; iii). The overall objective of the Action is to contribute to sustainable economic growth and decent job creation in Uganda. A first component aims to enhance Uganda¿s capacity to comply with SPS requirements for horticulture exports to Europe, hence increasing quality and quantity of exports by companies based in Uganda to Europe. A second component aims to ensure that private sector development benefits ordinary people by enhancing human rights compliance by businesses operating in Uganda. A third component, ¿Skilling and job creation¿, focuses on increasing the supply of qualified workers, and the employability of youth and creating job opportunities.
