Contract related to: Bosques Vivos de Honduras (AVA FLEGT y Alianza Forestal) - The ¿VPA and Beyond¿ Action will support Honduras to accomplish:1.      firstly its binding goals under the VPA FLEGT2.      secondly its non-binding goals under the future Forest Partnership3.      and thirdly support to green business within this overall framework of bilateral agreements.Firstly, the Action will support the implementation of the VPA FLEGT, which the EU and Honduras ratified in 2021, and that entered into force in September 2022. This bilateral trade agreement legally binds the EU and Honduras to address illegal logging and associated trade, aiming at making the timber exported to the EU legally produced. Key implementation steps will be operationalized within this program, such as the crucial Timber Legality Assurance System (TLAS), which is the heart of the VPA FLEGT.Secondly, this Action will support activities to pave the way for the Forest Partnership (FP) that is currently being negotiated between Honduras and the EU. Though it¿s a political non-binding instrument, the FP through this Program will contribute to reach the ambitious targets of Honduras under the Climate Change Agenda, established under the Paris Agreement, especially in terms of forest restoration.Thirdly, this Action will promote private sector activities linked to the forest, and that do not enter directly under the VPA no…
