PlantwisePlus scale-out strategy

About this project

The PlantwisePlus goal: Smallholder farmers produce more food using safer and sustainable crop production practices, thereby improving food security and rural livelihoods.

This will be achieved by supporting countries to predict, prevent and prepare themselves for plant health threats in the face of a changing climate. This in turn will ensure that farmers reduce their crop losses and produce more and safer food using practices that safeguard human health and the environment.

The PlantwisePlus programme will be implemented through three impact pathways:

¿Pest preparedness: to coordinate and strengthen systems for detection and response to pest outbreaks

¿Pesticide risk reduction: to increase awareness of, access to and use of affordable integrated pest management solutions

¿Farmer advisory services: to enhance knowledge and uptake of integrated pest management practices through responsive digital and non-digital approaches
