Peer-to-peer support to water basin organisations

About this project

<p class="ql-align-justify">The objective of this contract is to support Lake and River Basin Organsations (LRBOs) in the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management actions (IWRM), Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) and adapted measures to respond to global changes. This contract promotes EU expertise and know-how acquired through the implementation of the Water Framework Directive since 2000.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">This contract targets LRBOs capable of enforcing policies and actions to improve water management at basin level, including reforms and investment plans. Peer-learning between Lake and River Basin Organisations are mobilised at global level (including among European counterparts) to strengthen institutional frameworks, human capacities, means for planning and implementation.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">This contract promotes European experience on water resources management and UNECE Water Convention principles by:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">-Promoting Peer to Peer mechanisms between LRBOs</p><p class="ql-align-justify">-Strengthening LRBOs capacities by promoting good practices on four domains:</p><p class="ql-indent-1 ql-align-justify">·Legal frameworks and institutional organisation</p><p class="ql-indent-1 ql-align-justify">·River Basin Management plans elaboration and implementation with stakeholder¿s participation</p><p class="ql-indent-1 ql-align-justify">·Monitoring and Water information systems</p><p class="ql-indent…
