About this project

<p class="ql-align-justify">The action will foster coordination and collaboration among Uganda, Rwanda, and DRC, which will ensure a coordinated approach to conservation and effectively address cross-border challenges. I<em>mportantly, the action will contribute to sustainable natural resources management and overall sustainable growth and peace building in the Great Lakes region. </em></p><p class="ql-align-justify"><strong><u>Overall Objectives. </u></strong></p><p class="ql-align-justify">To strengthen transboundary collaboration and coordination between Rwanda, Uganda, and the democratic Republic of Congo for effective natural resource management in the Greater Virunga Landscape. This is in alignment with GVTC Strategic Plan specifically Strategic Objective 1.</p><p class="ql-align-justify"><strong><u>Specific Objectives </u></strong></p><p class="ql-align-justify">1. Reduce transboundary Human ¿ Wildlife conflict in Kyanika between Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda and local communities in Rwanda.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Functional trails for transboundary tourism are in place on the Sabinyo Mountains on the Rwanda and Uganda sides.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Governance and effective management of transboundary natural resources in the GVL particularly in Sarambwe Wildlife reserve in DRC and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda improved.</p>
