Strengthening Agriculture-Based Livelihoods through women and youth empowerment in the Thar desert, India

About this project

<p>The <strong>overall focus</strong> of the Action will be on strengthening Agrocilture-Based Livelihoods for economic empowerment of local communities, with a particular focus on women and youth living in remote desert villages amid severe poverty and greater vulnerabilities. The Action will emphasise on <strong>training and capacity building</strong>, targeting local CSOs and CBOs on aspects related to ABL, including rain-fed farming, aspects of rainwater management, soil improvement, crop diversification and multiple cropping as well as needs around creating marketing linkages, and raising digital and financial literacy. Additionally, it is intended to promote and strengthen local entrepreneurship by providing a wide range of support, including marketing links and capital assistance to local CBOs.</p>
