Contract inherited from multiple actions, related to: Expenditure Verification of FED/2019/397-103: FARMER LED BEEF INDUSTRY INVESTMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT (FALBIIS) for the period 13/10/2020 ¿ 12/04/2024 & FED/2019/405-654: Support to Sustainable Local Brood Stock in Uganda for the period 29/06/2019 - 28/07/2023 - The action entitled 'Developing a Market - Oriented and Environmentally Sustainable Beef Meat Industry in Uganda' aims at achieving a harmonised and efficient regulatory environment in the region; and contributing to a competitive, profitable, job-intensive, gender-responsive and environmentally-sustainable agricultural sector, which respects as far as possible animal welfare practices and is responsive to the different needs of women and men, mainly in terms of food security, nutrition, and social welfare, and with a focus on smallholders and small beef-related agribusiness. The specific objective of the action is to use a holistic value chain approach in the targeted geographical areas, to leverage an increase in the overall performance of the meat industry (in terms of production volume, quality, value addition and increased employment) of the Ugandan meat industry. The action will be implemented in direct management (direct award operating grant and procurement) and in indirect management with the Government of Uganda.
