Equitable Lesotho-Support to the National Statistic System in Lesotho

About this project

<p class="ql-align-justify">The programme Support to the National Statistical System (NSS) in Lesotho is part of the action ¿Equitable Lesotho¿, adopted in 2022. The main objective of the programme is to increase the use of gender-sensitive quality data and statistics by the government and the international partners in policies and programmes¿ design.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">In the absence of up-to-date legal frameworks and coordination mechanisms inside the NSS, the programme will provide support to legal reviews and the establishment of a coordination mechanism. Further, the programme focuses on the mainstreaming of gender and disability in the development of all data and statistics developed in the NSS in Lesotho.</p><p class="ql-align-justify">The outputs are:</p><p class="ql-align-justify">· Increased evidence to inform the revision of the National Statistic System</p><p class="ql-align-justify">· &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Improved national capacities to monitor the national development programmes and the SDG agenda</p><p class="ql-align-justify">·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Improved capacities for protection and gender mainstreaming and disability inclusion in data collection, analysis and dissemination.</p><p class="ql-align-justify"><br></p><p class="ql-align-justify">The proposed activities would be implemented nation-wide in Lesotho.</p>
