Contract related to: TA for Post-Floods Rural Economic Recovery of Green Productive Assets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa - The proposed Action will make a significant contribution to reactivating the rural economy in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by restoring in a climate-resilient way renewable energy and irrigation infrastructures built under previous EU funded programmes seriously damaged by the 2022 floods and expanding the same kind of green productive assets to other mountainous areas where there is an untapped potential for economic development based improved energy and water for irrigation provision. Previous EU interventions in the province had reached 1.9 million people and established successful community-managed electrification schemes, irrigation infrastructures while strengthening SMEs in agricultural and value chains.The intervention will focus on remote areas including newly merged districts, with a primary emphasis on flood risk mitigation at source: (1) Restoration, upgrade and expansion of climate-resilient community-managed irrigation systems ensuring better flood risk management; (2) Restoration, upgrading and expansion of disaster-resilient community-managed hydropower plants; (3) Increase capacities of rural communities to ensure sustainable and resilient water management as well as efficient, effective and economically sustainable micro hydropower plant management; (4) Landscape stabilisation and flood mitigation through increased multi-purpose re- and a…
