Activity under preparation EU Cambodia for National Agriculture Laboratory (NAL)

About this project

<p>The action aims to improve competitiveness by ensuring quality and ESG compliance, international certification and standardization to boost exports. Specifically, it supports Certification, by strengthening national laboratories. A critical bottleneck lies in the limited capacity of national testing laboratories and their lack of international accreditation. To address this gap, the Government is establishing the National Agriculture Laboratory in Setbo (NALS), a modern, centralized facility that will consolidate the four existing MAFF laboratories, expand testing and research capacity, and operate under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. By supporting Cambodia in operationalizing the NALS and achieving ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for priority tests, the project contributes to the Cambodia Pentagonal Strategy 2024¿2028 (Pentagon 2: Economic Diversification, and the overarching pillars of efficiency and sustainability), and the National Agriculture Development Policy 2022¿2030, in alignment with SDGs 2, 3, 5 9 and 12. </p>
