Strengthened capacity of CSOs in Beni Suef to develop innovative solutions responding to Environment, Digitalization and Gender Equality - EDGE

About this project

<p>The action aims at addressing for a duration of four years the major obstacles and constraints faced by CSOs in Upper Egypt in their mission to effectively respond to the many challenging issues faced by disadvantaged rural communities and groups. Life Vision for Development (LV) will select 20 local CSOs in Beni Suef for building their organisational, institutional and technical capacities trough a trajectory of mentoring, coaching and on-the-job training. In this respect, the Farmer Field and Business Schools (FFBS) approach will be used as a platform to train and actively involve the target CSOs in a proven and tested market-based agricultural extension method, in this way increasing the social and economic empowerment of 2,000 small-scale female farmers. Along this trajectory, CSOs will be provided with opportunities to propose and implement innovative ideas and initiatives that offer solutions to pressing needs of the communities they serve. For this matter, LV will train and coach CSOs to elaborate sound and feasible plans, and provide the needed on-the-job support during their implementation. Learning will take place through participative, experimental and discovery-based methods and target not only the selected CSOs, but also local government entities, community groups and beneficiaries.</p>
