About this project

Contract inherited from multiple actions, related to: IMBC IPA T¿rkiye AAP 2023 Contract Window 3 and 4 - This action contributes to Specific Objective (e) of IPA III (to reinforce environmental protection, increase resilience to climate change. It will accelerate the shift towards a low-carbon economy, develop the digital economy and society, and strengthen sustainable connectivity in all its dimensions as well as towards the Thematic Priority 1 ¿ Environment and Climate Change of the IPA III Window 3 ¿ Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity. It will also address the thematic areas of climate change and conservation of terrestrial and marine ecosystems.The specific objective of this action is to improve Türkiye¿s climate change mitigation and adaptation capacity including the local dimension as well as the biodiversity and health aspects. The action will be conducted in line with the European Green Deal[1] along three areas of support (AoS): (1) climate change mitigation and adaptation capacity at local level, (2) human health dimension of climate change and (3) biodiversity and ecosystems protection under climate change impacts. In order to improve climate change mitigation and increasing resilience to climate change at local level the AoS (1) will focus on the nationwide expansion of the EU ¿net-zero-cities approach¿ to local authorities for climate change mitigation and adaptation with the support of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (UMT) as the IBPM.…
