About this project

Contract related to: FAO - Supporting climate resilient sustainable agriculture and fisheries in Türkiye in line with European Green Deal objectives and its related policies - The Overall Objective of this Action Document (AD) is to contribute to the green transformation of the Turkish agriculture sector towards a net-zero climate target by 2053 and a sustainable food system for the well-being and health of people and nature. To achieve this, the AD foresees two Specific Objectives. The first one ensures the integrity and the establishment of competitive organic food supply chains. This will strengthen the organic agriculture system and align it with a more sustainable and climate-resilient food system in the context of the EU Green Deal. The second one will promote and facilitate the implementation of agriculture-related measures of the Green Deal Action Plan of Türkiye. It will also provide the necessary tools for achieving climate-resilient and sustainable agriculture and fisheries while promoting the conservation of biological diversity.The AD presents a holistic approach towards its goals under ¿Thematic Priorities 3-4: Agriculture and Rural Development, and Fisheries¿ of the ¿Window 4- Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth¿ of the IPA III programming framework.
