About this project

It is of high importance to take targeted measures to ensure full inclusion of all community segments in participatory forest management and enterprise development, and to avoid exclusion. Moreover, for the long-term conservation of forests and related livelihood opportunities and ecosystem services, it is crucial to address the root causes of deforestation resulting from the increasing pressure on forest resources in Ethiopia. The objective of engaging a Social Inclusion and Gender Advisor is to enable EFCCC to fully integrate these social concerns in its work vis-à-vis policy-making, regulations, and technical support, for sub-national government and guidelines development, monitoring and inclusion in enterprise and livelihood opportunities.
