About this project

The project is designed to address Bangladesh’s most pressing challenge in the nexus of climate, energy, and poverty by providing affordable access to clean cooking solutions for rural and peri-urban households. The aim is to develop a profitable business model that supports poor households with sustainable and environmentally safe cooking solutions. The target is to reach 51.000 households by the end of three years, enabling the purchase of eCook with the PAYG model, to make the eCook affordable. The PAYgo model also provides data for estimation of avoided GHG emissions. Project outcomes: 1. Reduced carbon emission from biomass used for cooking in Bangladesh 2. Increased employment for youth/women in clean energy technology (CET) value chain in Bangladesh 3. Increased access to affordable electric cookstoves for consumers in Bangladesh
