About this project

The objective of the partnership among Arla, PRAN, SNAL, SEGES, IDRN and DAFC, is to pool best expertise to showcase a visionary operating model for a productive and green MVC in SW Bangladesh. The model builds on Arla’s BIG FIVE farm practices adapted to BD dairy conditions. The 5 levers are Feed Efficiency, Feed Balance, Animal Robustness, Manure Handling and Land-use, leading to 30% CO2e reduction (up-stream), while increasing income with 30% for 10,000 farmers, incl. 80% women. Supply estimates to grow to 25,000 l/day to sustain PRAN’s dairy business. Energy, waste and packaging are 3 levers to gain 5% reduction (down-stream). Science-based proof-points from Innovation Farms will guide the dairy industry in line with BD and DK priorities on green agri-solutions and sust. food systems, scaling up to 50,000 farmers.
