About this project

The project will work at two levels. The first is market readiness where farmers, cooperatives, and mills will be well-prepared to produce high-quality olive oil through adopting innovative climate-smart techniques aligned with international standards. The second level is enhancing market opportunities where the international and local commercial and non-commercial partners will optimize the marketability of high-quality olive oil in Denmark and beyond. The business model of Al-Reef focuses on both market readiness and market opportunities towards producing high-quality organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO). Benefiting from the surge in demand in Europe a sustained demand will be established by increasing and improving the production and marketing of high-quality organic EVOO. To enhance competitiveness and market readiness, Al-Reef will work with olive mills and farmers cooperatives preparing the product for the export market through quality assurance, training and certification, logistics support services, transportation, storing, labelling and packaging. The customers are traders, cooperatives and fairtrade shops in Denmark and France, facilitated by Truely and Andines.
