About this project
To transform agrifood systems for higher productivity, better nutrition, market access and improved income and climate resilience for poor rural people. This will be achieved by developing a vibrant deforestation-free soy value chain that will attract more investments and promotion of scalable climate smart agriculture solutions, human capital development and inclusive business to boosting employment and agency for smallholder farmers, women and youth. In turn this is expected to drive market system aggregation to reduce inefficiency and costs. TANFEED’s will expand its work with smallholder farmers and other commercial partners to address identified commercial bottlenecks including the need to support transition from subsidence farming to medium and large-scale production of soy, limited access to inputs and climate change that compromise production and increases farmers vulnerability. The growing demand for soybean presents a huge opportunity for the partnership that will empower and incentivize 50 youth in commercial production and marketing of Quality Declared Soy Seeds (QDS), contributing to employment and boosting local seed availability.
