About this project
Plastics have become an integral part of daily life, used for items such as straws, shopping bags, electronics, and construction materials. The prevailing linear model of take, make, use, and dispose results in significant plastic waste accumulation, with forecasts suggesting 12 billion tons of plastic will be in landfills and the environment by 2050. Globally, the environmental, climate, and health impacts of plastics are nearing US$139 billion annually, adversely affecting freshwater systems
