Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit-Sharing (NP) in 2013 , therefore, is Party of the Protocol since the entry into force (accession) on 12 October 2014. Albania has taken steps to regulate ABS through national legislation, however, gaps persist in implementation, particularly in establishing strong compliance mechanisms, integrating ABS into research and commercial sectors, and ensuring equitable benefit-sharing with local communities.
