About this project

GEF Project on Enhanced Water Security and Community Resilience in the Adjacent Cuvelai and Kunene Transboundary River Basins. Improved management of water resources, especially the extremes of flood and drought are key elements of the project, which covers the adjacent but quite different transboundary Kunene and Cuvelai basin shared by Angola and Namibia. For the Kunene River Basin, the focus will be on the groundwork required for the sustainable development of the Kunene River which has significant potential for hydropower and irrigation development.
